A superb 19thc sail-maker''s hardwood seam rubber or liner with faceted knop.......this hand held tool would have been used to press down seams before hand-sewing canvas sails......it is decorated with scratch line decoration and has gained a very good colour and patina from years of constant use....
English. C1840-60.
