Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The drawers and cupboard have attractive brass drop handles, it has a shelf underneath the drawers and it stands on slim square legs. In a wonderfully figured mahogany with good colour and original patina it is inlaid throughout with ebony and satinwood. A really stylish and useful item that would make a great music cabinet, collectors chest, hall unit or filing cabinet. Stamped with a number to the back and a makers label to the inside of the top drawer which reads: “Wilson Peck Sheffield & Nottingham”.
