Beautiful English Sterling Silver & Tortoiseshell Mirror

Description

A quite wonderful and top-notch hand mirror, made from English sterling silver, particularly attractive with it's appealing shape and detailed work to the silver. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1921.

The back is set with a stunning large piece of glossy tortoise shell with wonderful markings and colours ranging from golden champage to rich chocolate brown. The centre is decorated with an intricate silver pique.

The original glass is intact with no loss of silvering and just some minor surface scratches. A grand and elegant piece in superb condition, measuring 10 3/4" in length with the mirror back having a diameter measuring 5 3/4".
