Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is of amazing quality and is a very useful size. There are four adjustable shelves which rest on shark teeth supports, meaning most sizes of books can fit. The construction is mostly solid oak, with burr pollard oak veneers on the top, front edges of the bookcase and front edges of the shelves.
This has a lovely patina and aged look given that old wood has been used, we have had it sympathetically polished and the condition is fantastic throughout.
