Antique Italian Burr Walnut Marble Top Commode

Description

A very rare and beautiful antique North Italian commode in burr walnut with what looks like the original marble top. This is a very early item, dating from around the 1750-1790 period, or even earlier.

It is of amazing quality and has lovely small proportions. The burr walnut grain patterns and colours are absolutely gorgeous. The marble top looks to be original, it is very thick and also has beautiful colours. The gilt bronze handles are of exquisite quality as well, with extremely fine details. The drawers are lined with very old and possibly original paper.

We have had this recently re-polished, it is in fantastic condition for its age, with a stunning patina.
