Late 17th Early 18th Century Continental Carved Pine Crib Angel

Description

A wonderful late 17th early 18th continental carved crib angel. Shown kneeling (beside the crib) with outstretched arm, which would have probably held a harp or spear, on a naturalised base. The carving is exceptional and very detailed. Remnants of the gesso remain in places particularly tot eh back and wings.

Condition: wing with some losers, left are repair some time previously, age related cracking and gesso worn
