Rare 19th Century French Silver Dressing Table Box by Emile Langlois, Paris Circa 1890

Description

This exquisite 19th Century French circular box bears the marks of Emile Langlois and boasts the Minerva head 1st standard mark for a high grade silver (950/1000 standard silver) . Of circular form, the engine-turned cover engraved with dainty circles surrounding a vacant medallion. The sides with conforming decorations, both sides and cover with decorative raised ribbon-tied borders. The friction cover opening to reveal a pale gilt wash interior.

EL for Emile Langlois

Head of Minerva with mint-mark 1 (950 standard of fineness)

Dimensions:

Diameter: 7.5cm / 3 inches.

Height: 3cm / 1.2 inches.
