Antique Longcase Clock Hastings

19th century
Description

A good quality Sussex Georgian mahogany longcase clock. An arched hood pediment with squared side columns. Satinwood crossbanding to the trunk door edging and base panel. Choice flame mahogany veneers. An arched painted dial with gilt floral corners and strike/silent to the arch. Date and seconds indicators. A quality 8-day duration movement with 5 pillars striking the hours on a bell.

Richard Weston of Hastings is recorded in Baillies' 'Clockmakers and Watchmakers of the World' book as working in the early 1800's.
