Antique English Sterling Silver Visiting Card Case - 1873

Description

A quite stunning and highly decorative Victorian English visiting card case, a perfect size for use today, easily accepting modern sized business cards.

A stunning shape with wonderful decorative engraving to both front and back; the back has a vacant cartouche, which hasn't been engraved and could be personalized if desired.

There is a superb clear hallmark once the hinged lid is lifted for Birmingham 187 together with the Queen Victoria's head stamp and the makers initials RT for the silversmith Robert Thornton.

All in excellent undamaged condition and measuring 4" x 2 5/8".
