~ French - Circa 1870 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A large and stunning Louis XVI style drum head clock. Beautifully made in gilt bronze, the clock sits upon a reeded column with scroll brackets to each side. The case is adorned with floral swags, acanthus and a ribbon. To the top an urn with rams head handles. The top is removable to store small items.

The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper and is complete with finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with only slight wear and discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
