Description

A Scottish mahogany longcase clock. A swan neck hood pediment with brass finial. Hood side columns. A concave trunk door flanked by half columns. A recessed base panel. A decorative arched painted dial depicting the four continents to the corners and a country scene to the arch. Seconds and date indicators. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

James Duncan of Paisley is listed in Whyte's 'Scottish Clock and Watchmakers' book as working from 1893-1897.

Height 7ft 5 " / 226cms.
