Description

An Oxfordshire Georgian mahogany longcase clock. A quality, slim case with choice flame mahogany veneers. An arched pediment with brass capped hood columns. Side glass hood apertures. A re-entrant base panel moulding and double skirting of London design. An arched brass and silvered dial with strike/silent. Central dial engraving with seconds and date indicators. Blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell. A flat brass rod pendulum of London quality.

William Drury of Banbury is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1773-1810.
