Regency Bronze Vase & Cherub Cover

Description

A Regency Bronze Vase and Cover.

The domed cover with a top in the form of the young cupid, holding a quiver of arrows, as he shares a secret. The cover with lappet rim, fitting within the gadrooned rim of the vase, formed as a classical brazier. The rim divided by lion masks, flowing through the tapering reeds of the bowl, to lions paw feet, standing on a re-entrant sided triangular base.

The interior of the bowl with a lift out lead liner.

Date circa 1800.
