A Rare Pair of Old Sheffield Plated Candlesticks C1780

Description

A rare pair of Neo-Classical Style candlesticks. Made of Old Sheffield and dating to c1770-1790. Of a very elegant design with ornate detailing. With removable sconces and green baise to the bases.

The condition is good but with copper bleed to the raised edges and patches of age related wear to the bases. These candlesticks have been re-baised. One candlestick has a slightly uneven feel to the base but the pair stands well.

Total weight approx 2.2kg

Height approx 31cm.
