1930s Zenith Pocket Watch

1930s Zenith pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Zenith 18.28.1.P.E, which is working nicely. This movement was in production from 1905 right up until 1982.

The movement is fully signed with the Zenith name and the low serial number tells us that the watch was assembled in the French Zenith factory in Besancon which is near to the Swiss border. This was established in 1923 and worked alongside the Swiss Zenith factory. The French arm had their own serial number system although it is estimated that numbers never reached one million. The records have been destroyed so unfortunately there is no dating system as there is with Zenith’s Swiss watches. We would estimate the date of manufacture for this particular watch as being 1930s.

The watch measures 45mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is stainless steel and it is in lovely condition.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute makers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
