A Rare Enclosed Folio Stand.

Description

An excellent, rare enclosed folio stand supported on a walnut frame with burnished gilt metal double hinges. The frame has the original porcelain casters. The top folds back and the front drops down to reveal the portfolio. Engraved gilt metal lock and escutcheon. The silk lined interior bears the manufacturers original label....Slade Brothers, 169 Great Portland Street London. A rare and exceptional portfolio stand, this has been in our own gallery for the last 20 years or so. The gilt brass is excellent, the engraved escutcheon is bronze, the wood is truly wonderful.

The size of the folio box is 37.5 inches by 24 inches by 4.5 inches.

The stand when closed is 46 inches by 37.5 inches by 21 inches.
