This rug has all these attributes. Made by a Teke woman at the height of her profession during the second half of the 19th century, this rug is in very good overall condition and is complete with its long 'elems' at each end. The central field contains three vertical rows of nine Teke 'guls' or tribal crests and surrounded by a simple border, generally a sign of early age.
A spectacular and collectable rug.
