Fishing Village - Antique Oil Painting

Description

Signed oil on canvas showing a view of fishing boats ins a small harbour. The painting is signed by the artist W J Stamps (1876-1964) and dates from the early 20th century.

Walter Stamps (1876 – 1964) was the Head of the Wycombe School of Art from 1911. His students included furniture designers Robin Day and also Edwin Clinch, who was one of the designers of the Utility furniture range of the Second World War. There are several of his works in the Wycombe Museum.
