Stunning Sterling Silver Heart Shaped Pill Box - Cherubs - 1899

Description

A quite wonderful sterling silver box in the shape of a heart with the most adorable embossed decoration to lid, sides and the base of the interior, which is unusual.

The top features three Cherub or Putti figures, the standing one shooting arrows and the interior with the three Cherubs fishing on the riverbank.

Made on the continent, perhaps Germany and bearing the full English silver import hallmark for London 1899, making this a true Victorian example; the makers initials J.S are also present.

Excellent condition, measuring 1 9/8" x 2" wide. Quite beautiful!
