A Large Old Sheffield Plated Warming Tureen on Stand C1830

19th century
Description

This large and impressive warming tureen is made of Old Sheffield Plate and consists of a tureen standing on an internal copper tray inside a stand. Dating to c1830, this piece bears no makers mark. With beautiful turned wooden handles and sitting on four solid feet.

The condition is good overall with no dents or splits. The plating is in good condition with a few stubborn black marks to the plate and some scuff marking to the lid. There are some solder strengtheners to the interiorof the handles which are not visible externally.

Weight approx 3.8kg

Height to top of handle approx 23cm

Total Span approx 37cm.
