Late 18th Century French Pair of Old Sheffield Plated Wirework Coasters

Description

This fine pair of wirework coasters are made of Old Sheffield Plate. Dating to the late 18th century, the pieces are marked for French maker 'JB'. Excellently made and elegant pieces which are felted to the bases.

The condition is good but one coaster has a slight ripple to the rim. Faint copper bleeding and some signs of use. All the wirework is intact.

Total weight approx 381g

Height approx 3.5cm

Diameter approx 14.5cm

Internal diameter approx 11cm
