Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Masons ironstone was patented in 1813 by Miles Mason in Staffordshire, England, as a durable alternative to imported porcelain. The pottery gained widespread popularity across Europe for its dense body, rich vitreous glazes, and elaborate Oriental-inspired Chinoiserie patterns.

Antique ironstone is a durable earthenware containing feldspar, flint, and clay, fired at high temperatures. These chargers were finished with clear lead glazes, decorated with underglaze transfers or hand-applied polychrome enamels, and often accented with gilding.

Authentic items usually display impressed or printed manufacturer marks on the base, such as Masons Patent Ironstone China. They are notably heavy for their size, possess a smooth glaze with depth, and exhibit detailed transfer-printed or hand-painted enamel designs.

A decorative charger can be displayed upright on a plate stand atop a sideboard or mounted to a wall within a ceramic gallery display. Its strong colour palette pairs effectively against dark or neutral backdrops in dining rooms and living spaces.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild dish soap applied with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive pads. Never place antique decorated ceramics in a dishwasher or submerge pieces featuring delicate gilded or overglaze enamel work.
