French Mahogany Bookcase C.1860

Description

Mid 19th.c. French mahogany bookcase c.1860. Useful narrow dimensions, just 45" wide. Long glazed door fitted inside with three adjustable shelves (internal depth 12") over a single drawer in the base. Particularly well figured flame mahogany veneers laid in a symmetrical pattern across the front of the bookcase. Tall cornice with egg and dart carving, crisp moulded detail to the door, surround and base and flanked with turned and barley twist carved pilasters to the front corners. Oak lined interior, oak backboards and drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
