A Kerman Millefleurs prayer rug is a hand-knotted textile produced in or around the city of Kerman in south-eastern Persia. Characterised by a top-arched mihrab frame and a dense thousand flowers (millefleurs) pattern, these rugs often incorporate a central tree of life motif.

These carpets were woven using finely spun wool pile knotted onto a cotton warp and weft foundation. The soft, varied colour palette was achieved using natural vegetable and plant dyes, such as madder for reds and indigo for blues.

Authentic pieces feature high knot density, asymmetrical Persian (Senneh) knots, and a flexible cotton foundation. Design signatures include intricate botanical detail, a well-defined pointed or stepped mihrab arch, and a delicate pastel or soft jewel-toned colour palette.

A textile of this scale can be used as a focal floor accent in low-traffic areas, layered over neutral natural-fibre carpeting, or mounted on a wall using a concealed batten system as decorative textile art.
