A stunning and unusual silver casket. The style is superb Arts & Crafts with a planished finish and decorated with silver casket straps and an empty protruding cartouche in the centre. The box has a fastening button. Clear hallmarks are visible on the front of the casket for Birmingham 1908, along with the Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver and the maker''s mark: J W Tiptaft. The superb craftmanship so synonymous with the arts and crafts period is very noticeable in this fabulous item.
