Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This is beautifully made and is of amazing quality. The makers stamp ‘H. Mawer & Stephenson’ is seen inside the middle drawer.

The desk has a breakfront design, with gorgeous hand coloured gold tooled leather top. It sits on eight tapered legs which are elegant yet very sturdy. There are original brass casters and intricately designed brass handles.

The satin wood has a beautiful silky grain pattern and is nicely inlaid with darker stringing.
There is just some minor wear and various small marks under the polish here and there, commensurate for age.
