Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The stone is surrounded by fourteen high white, bright and internally clean round brilliant cut diamonds of approximately 0.10 carats each. The diamonds are rubover set in platinum above a wired gallery. Neat detailing in the shoulders leads to a slender, fluted platinum shank.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion shaped cabochon and round brilliant cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is 5.84 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.40 carat.
Circa – 1950.
Size – O (UK) or 7 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The sapphire is 10.1 x 8.4mm. The head of the ring is 18.6 x 15.6mm and sits 9.5mm from the finger.
Metal – Platinum. Tested.
