Pair Quirky Antique Staffordshire Dogs C1860

Description

It is common knowledge that, in Victorian times, children were employed to decorate pottery in Staffordshire. This quirky Pair of Antique StaffordshireBlack and White Dogs show all the exuberance one might expect from an excitable child having fun. No restraint has been shown in the application of the black colour. Even the air holes in the back are slightly larger than normal. Perhaps it was the young decorator’s first day at work. Whatever the reason for the quirky decoration this Pair of Staffordshire Dogs have an appeal all of their own and make you smile every time you look at them.

They are in good condition with no restoration.
