Antique Flame Grain Mahogany Large Duchess Dressing Table.

A charming Mahogany Duchess dressing table with lots of storage.

We are offering this excellent condition original Victorian Mahogany Ladies vanity duchess dressing table made around C1870.

This dressing table features beautiful flame grain Mahogany veneer to the whole frontage which is complemented by its unusual skilfully carved ribbon handles to the drawers. Either side of the dressing table are 2 small jewellery draw units affixed to the top which houses the ornately carved and scrolled mirror supports which hold its tilting mirror firmly in place. The mirror frame is moulded Mahogany and is complete with its original glass which has minimal pitting with only a small area pitted as shown on the photographs with some slight ghosting.

The dressing table also features a beautifully shaped serpentine front with a solid Mahogany top complete with a hidden serpentine shaped drawer to the centre. Flanking the serpentine front are 2 drawer pedestals with turned pillars on the corners. Slightly recessed into the centre is a lovely flame Mahogany door with mouldings which opens via a turned knob to reveal a large cupboard with removable shelf for mass storage.

The whole dressing table stands on its original castors on wooden wheels which is hidden underneath the plinth.

This dressing table has been sympathetically restored maintaining original patina, signs of age and has a lovely deep rich original colour and lightly faded French polished finish. We have just enhanced this item by cleaning and carefully waxing this item to give a natural lustrous sheen and preserve and protect the item.

Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there, for example, the top has 2 ring marks to the left hand side of the top as pictured. We feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character.
