A good late Victorian silver plate mounted cut lead crystal glass claret jug dating to c1890 with markers mark under the lid for James Dixon & Co Ltd. The silver plated mount of lid, spout and handle reflect the restrained style of designers such as Christopher Dresser. The main body is cut in a double line square lattice with long fluted cuts around the neck. The base is star cut. In excellent condition and a stylish piece.
