A Late 17th Century Marquetry Coffer.

Description

A late 17th century marquetry coffer attributed to the workshops of Yorkshire Circa 1690-1720.

The coffer is constructed from oak and consists of a triple inlaid panelled front with carved decoration.

At the bottom of the chest is a single large drawer, and above the lid opens to reveal a fitted candle box with two small drawers at the bottom. When the candle box lid is open the face board of the box slides up to reveal a further two hidden secret drawers.

Overall the coffer is in excellent condition and has a superb colour and a lovely patination.
