Late 18th Century Old Sheffield Plated Coffee Jug

Description

A rare large coffee jug made of Old Sheffield Plate. Bearing no makers mark but visibly seamed to the interior and dating to c1790. Of particularly statuesque proportions and with a fine wooden handle. With beautifully engraved initials to the front.

In very good condition with only with minor copper bleed to the initials to the front. Slight ripple to edge of lid and very small section of edging missing around the spout. Very clean interior.

Weight approx 759g.

Span approx 25.5cm.

Height approx 27cm

Base diameter approx 11cm
