He migrated to Paris, France in 1926 where he began to create models for the manufacture of Villenauxe. In 1933 he then moved on to Villenauxe-la-Grande to work at the factory. He returned home to Czechoslovakia in 1951, where he eventually died in 1963 aged only 64.
