Antique French 19th Century Walnut Bedside Cupboards

A fantastic pair of French period Bedsides.

Here we have this fine example of a set of French 19th Century (circa 1890) bedside cupboards in Walnut. Every side and panel on these bedsides features ornate fine Walnut parquetry veneer with the only exception being the top which is a beautiful brown marble. The top section is suspended on 4 finely turned pillars complete with 1 drawer and a cupboard base. The solid Mahogany dovetailed drawers are of high quality, featuring finely turned knobs which are framed with moulding. As a sign of their quality the drawers are fully polished inside and are complete with removable peg drawer stops.

The cupboard doors have a simple yet attractive Parquetry panel in the centre which is framed with moulding complete with their original knobs on the left. The doors open via their lovely original spring latches and opening the doors reveals the white marble fitted interior. The cabinets stand proudly on 4 turned legs finishing to their original brass castors with ferrules and Ebony wooden wheels.

These cupboard are in an outstanding condition featuring its original French polished finish with a lovely lightly faded rich Walnut colour. These cabinets are ready for their new home, we have carefully cleaned and waxed these cupboards which maintains their original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents here and there.

Also note: These cabinets have at some point had woodworm which is not structural. We have treated these for woodworm for peace of mind. However, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
