Impressive mid C19th carved mahogany framed Empire-style scroll-ended settee .

Well-carved mahogany double-ended settee of dramatic and exuberant form . The carved mahogany scroll-ends of dolphin design with intricate carved detail .

The shaped horizontal back-rail with carved leaf and rosette paterae details , the lower seat frame surround of cushion profile with a central triple flower-head medallion motif. The whole being of flame mahogany construction.

Raised on exaggerated design leaf-carved legs of zoomorphic or lion form with claw feet . Fitted with brass castors to aid movement.

A high quality large-scale sofa or settee of arresting design in excellent original condition. The mahogany frame with a rich colour and patina .

Retains its apparently original striped velour-type gold/yellow upholstery in serviceable , clean condition.
