Charming Antique Sarouk Saroukh Village Rug. 150cm X 101cm

1900 - 1920
Description

Sarouk/arak district,west persia,circa 1920.

A charming village made sarouk rug of typical floral pendant designs with a central floral medallion on a raspberry red ground.

Has some more unusual colours including varoius shades of green & chocolate.and note the lighter abrash band running across towards the bottom of the rug in image 1.

Plenty of images to peruse. Hand washed & dusted. In very good condition throughout with a full pile.

4 foot 11 inches by 3 foot 3 inches. 150cm X 101cm. At widest points. Fringes and selvedges not measured in size. Wool pile hand knotted onto cotton foundations wefts dyed light blue.
