Antique Curved Wing Back Pine and Elm Settle

19th century
Description

A lovely pine settle dating from the mid 19th Century. It has a high curving back with traditional wing shaped sides, a thick elm seat and two shaped arms.

It is in very good condition for its age and the pine has mellowed to the most wonderful aged patina. There have been a few old repairs but it is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use and also signs of old worm in many parts but it has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. The whole piece has been cleaned and given a gentle polish and is ready for use.
