Description

Late 19th.c. dinner gong on a carved oak stand c.1890. 18" bronze gong with a decorated surface and stamped 'Burmese'. Hung on wrought iron brackets from an oak stand with a serpentine front shelf with a carved and moulded edge and raised gallery. Extensive carved detail repeated on the rear. Turned and reeded column supports, splayed feet for stability. Sold together with the large clapper. Excellent condition with a good tone to the gong. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
