Description

A good Kingwood and ormolu (brass) mounted dwarf bookcase. Possibly Continental, although the dimensions would suggest it is more likely English. It features triple height shelving with two adjustable shelves, each with a reeded lipped edge to the front. Fitted out in mahogany to the interior. Brass ormolu decoration around the plinth, and two highly decorative ormolu scrolls with leaves and flower-bud drops to the front top corners. Further linked-ovals with flowers and ribbon decoration surround the frieze under the top. It stands on a plain arts-and-crafts style 'shaped' plinth.

The kingwood inlaid veneers are in good condition, making up a decorative pattern. One visible minor (professionally done) repair made to the top over the years.
