The outer surfaces of the box are highly polished.
The lid opens to reveal the pristine blue silk lined interior with all MOP handled tools present. Winders, Waxer, measure, thimbles etc. 23 items in total. The inside of the lid opens, by means of an MOP clip, to reveal a pull-out letter sleeve.

The blue silk tool tray in turn lifts out by use of the recessed brass handles to reveal a storage space underneath.
Sold complete with original key.
Provenance: Inside the box is a hand-written note with the words "made about 1865, given by my Grandfather Thomas King to his sister Sally King. She died at an early age". This may well explain why the box is in such good condition, almost as if it had never been used.
