Gents boxed 1960s Garrard wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name of the original retailer, Garrard. The movement is protected by an inner cover.

Garrards was founded in 1735 by George Wickes. They designed, manufactured and retailed luxury jewellery, silver and watches. The company is still trading today and as well has having their headquarters in Mayfair, London, they also have a presence in Harrods, London, Geneva, Lebanon, Qatar, Dubai, Moscow and Hong Kong. Garrard was the Crown Jeweller of the United Kingdom, charged with the upkeep of the British Crown Jewels from 1843 to 2007.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition with just minor marking, nothing serious at all. The back of the watch has a 1961 long service inscription from Imperial Chemicals.

The lens looks good to the naked eye… small marks if viewed very closely.

The signed dial is in good original condition, just a little marking but nothing serious. Original hands, seconds sweep and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a period Garrard presentation box.
