A mid 19th century pocket nutmeg grater from the Dr Reckless collection, illustrated in his book on Nutmeg Graters and Spices. The top which is bound with white metal, probably silver, lifts off to reveal the grater and storage for a nutmeg.
It measures 6cm h x 2.5cm w.
