A Fine Quality Victorian Period Amboyna, Purple Heart and Ebony Bonheur De Jour

Description

A fine quality Victorian Period amboyna, Purple Heart and ebony bonheur de jour. The upper section with a brass galleried central mirrored section flanked by twin panelled doors with sevres plaques and ormolu mounts, veneered in amboyna with Purple Heart and ebony banding. The lower section again veneered in amboyna with Purple Heart and ebony banding throughout. Having three mahogany lined concealed drawers, the central one having an adjustable writing slope. The whole raised on turned and fluted ebony columns with small inset sevres roundels and ormolu corinthian capitols. Having shaped sides and united by a rectangular shelf, raised on turned ebony and ormolu feet. English cabinet made in the French taste Circa 1870-1880
