Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco wall lights from the 1930s are characterised by geometric silhouettes, stepped profiles, and stylized natural forms such as fans or sunbursts. They frequently feature press-moulded frosted or tinted glass shades held within streamlined metal mounts made from polished chrome or nickel.

authentic period fixtures typically utilise press-moulded glass shades in amber, clear, pink, or frosted finishes. The structural frames and backplates are commonly constructed from brass or chrome-plated metal, offering a crisp metallic contrast to the translucent glass.

Authentic pieces usually display age-consistent wear on the metalwork, such as minor pitting or subtle oxidisation on chrome plating. The glass shades often show seam lines from original two-piece moulds and possess hand-finished metal galleries or screw fittings rather than contemporary standardized plastic components.

These wall lights can be positioned in pairs to flank a hallway mirror, accentuate a dining room sideboard, or frame a bed headboard. Their warm glass tones and metallic accents complement both contemporary neutral palettes and richer period decor schemes.

Glass shades should be removed and washed gently in warm water with mild detergent before thoroughly drying. Clean chrome mounts using a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh abrasive polishes or chemical cleaners that can strip or compromise the thin chromium plating.
