A 19th Century Burr Walnut Escritoire

Description

A superb 19th century French book matched Burr walnut and rosewood fall front escritoire, With upper drawer with carved drawer front above fall front lid flanked by turned pillars with three lower drawers. Rosewood fully fitted interior. The central oval fielded lid panel with book matched veneers to give the appearance of a central Urn. A very nice touch and well thought design. This piece is in absolute pristine condition and superb quality, with 2 keys, one for the inner cupboard. Raised on bun feet. Quite stunning. This piece will make the right person very happy indeed. Probably the best escritoire of its type we have ever seen in 45 years in the antiques trade.
