Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1960s.
The stone is secured in a four claw white gold and sits between a line of six (three each side) high white and internally clean baguette cut diamonds, fixed to a 14k white gold curb chain.
Total length 16 inches, including the diamond-set segment of the chain.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire with baguette diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 1.53 carat, with approximately 0.60 carat of diamonds.
Circa – 1960.
Measurements – The sapphire is 6.45 x 7.43mm. The pendant, not including the bale, is 31.5 x 26.9mm.
Metal – 14k white gold. Tested.
