One very rarely discovers a pair of tribal saddlebags that have not been separated. Most of them have had the snip because it is easier to sell one than two. However this complete set is still together and in glorious colour with exceptional wool. An exciting item for the collector or anyone who wants to bring a sparkle to their home, this lovely tribal item will attract attention from all and sundry, and be a great conversation piece. Amazing to find such a great ethnographic item, still with the leather protection handsewn on, to protect the weak points.

Handwoven in the late 19th century, they were a utilitarian object used to transport whatever would fit in them, over the back of a donkey. The design and colours- all natural- tells me this was made by the Afshar, a nomadic group based in the South of Persia (Iran).
