A 19th century nutmeg grater in the shape of a wine bottle. Both the middle section and the top unscrew. The middle section to reveal the grater and storage area for nutmegs. The top acting like a cork to sprinkle ground nutmeg out.
In the early to mid 1800s fresh nutmeg was sprinkled into warm wine.
