An early 1800s mahogany reel and sewing box holder. The box has two stepped compartments with each compartment having reel spikes to place the reels on. Each different cotton thread would be threaded through the bone aperture on the front and sides. To the base is a pull out drawer for storing scissors, needles etc in.
The box measures 17cm w x12.5cm d x 18cm h.
The box comes with various cotton reels.
