N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this piece to the Regency era.
This then leads to the round movement housing which has a ribbon, oak leaf, and acorn mount to the top flowing down the sides made of gilt bronze. The movement housing then sits on two lovely shaped supports again made of gilt bronze. The base is then shaped bronze and has a further floral gilt bronze mount to the front. Finally the clock is finished by four lovely, round gilt feet.
The dial is then enamel and set out in black Roman numerals with a thin ring of dashed marking the minutes and every 15 minutes is marked in Arabic numerals. The dial then has an intricately shaped gilt bronze surround. Finally the dial is finished by two beautifully shaped hands.
The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. It is ticking away as it should and comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key. The movement is a single chain fusee example of the upmost quality and is signed by the maker “F BAETENS GARRARD ST LONDON” to both the back plate and the inside of the front plate.
The clock dates to circa 1820 and is in fabulous condition for its age!
